I skimmed digikey, but xLCC is not popular iwth uCs : (

I did find this one:

it's a 16-bit zilog @20 MHz for $8 and change.  68-LCC.

if hobbyist capability is your goal, I think the DSPic ones in DIP  
have the edge, not only spec-wise, but support-wise, many people are  
using DSPics.

40 MIPs, iirc, its 16x16=32 multiply is single cycle. $7.62 low qty.   
some of them also have very fast a/d
