Wave tables give you timbres that cannot be done with the usual
two VCO - one VCF architecture. Like Hammond organ or vocal type
sounds.

The quantisation noise can also bring a pleasant grittiness.

Have you played the early eighties Namco arcade games ? Dig dug,
Galaga, Pacman, Pole Position ? It's all 4-bit wave tables and
it sounds wonderful.
