I think the DW-8000 used 6 multisamples per waveform, the idea being that 
since the waveforms in ROM were already band limited and "oversampled", 
they could use simple drop/add reconstruction without aliasing problems.
But the result was a quite large 128 kByte ROM. 

Sample rate was about 50 kHz.
