Tap tempo!
Preferrably implemented as a retrig button, locking the new tempo to
even divisions/multiples (and their triplets) of possible incoming
MIDI clock / DIN Sync / other clock.
Generally, "the ultimate LFO" discussions tend to result in such a big
and uncharming device that I actually prefer cutting down on the
features in favour of a more moderate solution - or a couple of them.
Focusing on just half the possible features can give a much neater
module, where a cleverly optimised design almost makes you appreciate
the limitations. For instance, what would be the ultimate *compact*
LFO with just one column of controls in a typical modular format? :-)
