The tax department has set up a fully automated self-service unit, with 
associate killer robots authorized to hunt you down, retrieve the tax 
and if unsatisfied indeed kill you off. This will remain true until the 
unlikely event that the rescue ship with the tax department staff will 
(relatively) safely land so that they can resume their work.

Besides, since there for the moment isn't anyone else accepting money, 
you can at least pay your taxes. It helps to fund the safe landing of 
the tax-department. You can however expect a good service after that, 
such as coming to your house with secured weapons.
