[sdiy] products for rust removal - the joys of phosphoric acid

I use Naval Jelly. It's basically phosphoric acid in a gel medium. I 
mentioned that I didn't like the paint-eating factor. Maybe that's just 
what it does. I was wondering if anyone had tried diluting it. I suppose 
I could try it and let you all know my results since I have some and 
it's not like it's expensive. I suppose I'm looking for what-not-to-do 
advise before I dive in.
