I've been planning on cloning the vocoder and ensemble parts of the
Korg VC-10, but I keep my eyes peeled for a good deal on eBay for the
real thing since they look so damn cool. But seriously, $1,500??? Way
outside the range Vintage Synth Explorer says, but then I got a Korg M1R
for less than $100, so what do they know, huh?
Cloning the VC-10 appeals to me because I won't have to buy tons of
NE570's or CA3080's (although substituting LM13600 is certainly
doable...).
And I've said it before: Korg's ensemble circuits scream to be cloned
in a project in their own right. The VC-10's looks easiest.
