Hi Paul,

>  I know the ARM compiler is hideously expensive, but I think GCC now has good support for it.

Well, there is now a community edition of ARM's compiler aimed at the
Android market. You do know that commercially Android is built with
GCC?

> I've been looking at the raspberry-pi for developing stuff, it's a 700Mhz ARM capable of runninNg linux and has a lot of GPIO brought out for around £35.

And Gert has just announced a breakout board for more GPIO.

Now if we could find a way to access the shader engines to use for
audio processing you'd have more GFLOPS than you'd know what to do
with!

Cheers,
Neil
