[sdiy] Yamaha CS-30 clock input mod

I desperately need some help from anyone who's either added a clock input or done Greg Zifcak's mod to their Yamaha CS-30.

Despite having a MIDI/CV converter, I really want to add a trigger in for the 8-step sequencer.

I have tried to follow this to a T and it's not working.

the last part is to connect the remaining pad of the SPDT switch to IC4, Pin 14.

I don't think it's any fault of Greg but after doing this and flipping the switch to "Trigger input" the clock stops working altogether.
I counted to "14" both ways [clockwise & counter clockwise] and neither way work.

I then tried to completely bypass using the external input and wired a separate jack specifically for the Clock input. Still.. nothing.
With machine on, I disconnected what should have been going to pin 14 and instead just started trying ANY resistor or pin going in or near the clock, as well as setting it to Manual mode and trying areas near the Start / Stop switch.

I'm thinking I've gone down the wrong route..

Can someone who's done this send photos of your work?

In a perfect world, I'd use a separate input jack instead of using the External Input.. just in case I want to leave things [like a non-click source, ala voice or guitar]

Thanks in advance,

+odd
