[sdiy] At last, back to synthesizer stuff..almost

   Hey folks,

Finally, after years of being gone working in the field, I have time
to return to synthesizer design. I just wish it were under more
cheerful conditions, as we have just lost the greatest analog design
engineer of my generation. JH and I, though we did not communicate as
much in later years, our rapport was such that looking back, I feel like
I lost a brother. That he was the same age as myself makes it only more
emotional to reflect on one's own life and realize just how fortunate
one can truly be, even if it takes an event like this to make one
realize it.

But my loss, and the synthesizer design & DIY community's loss--these
are small compared to his family's loss. I have two children, aged 9
and 6, and if sit and think too long about it about how my wife and kids
would fare if I were gone--the thought of it scares me. And it scares
me now to think of how JH's wife and kids will have to deal with his not
being there anymore.

I had thought to not say anything and just sneak back into obscurity
again, but then it occurred to me that now more than ever I should get
back into things, because there are things yet to do, even if I am not
that worthy of trying to do them. But, I will do what I can, because I
must.

Sorry to rant, but this past week has really unsettled me.
