[sdiy] Paia 1550 Stringz n Thingz not sustaining

I have a 1550 I'm working on and I'm a little stuck on the decay time
for both the strings and piano sounds.  There is very little
difference between minimum and maximum decay time using the controls
(or using a footswitch). I checked and the pots are varying the
voltage as they should be going to the sustain busses.  Does anybody
have any suggestions on what components could be bad (diode, cap?) to
cause this behavior?
