I've used SMT tempcos and have epoxied them to a DIP package and have also
made an axial component by soldering leads and encapsulating in epoxy. I
also made one flat to fit between two transistors.

Thanks for thinking of us, but actually we're out of 2K Tempcos right now.
My source dried up, and I can't find a new (reasonably priced) manufacturer.
I'm still looking, as I sell anywhere from 50 to 200 a month when I have
them, but no good news yet. As an alternative, we do carry a bunch of the 1K
surface mount tempcos, and while they're a little trickier to use, a pair of
those in series is about the same price as our 2K parts and they seem to
work nicely.
