Looking at the Mackie 1604VLZ mixer schematics I see they use this
approach too for the AUX send pots, and looks like they use pot
bending with weird 'G'-law pots so they get audio taper with the low
5k1 bus resistors.
Just goes to show, nothing's as new as you think!
