[sdiy] Strange CS2x problem

I thought maybe someone had used one of these in here and run across 
this.  I did a search to no avail and can't find a hint in the manual 
where it seems it should be.

Here's the deal.  I take a sound like 'Emerson'. Used to be a great 
organ sound. Now it and a lot of other sounds have a layered ..electric 
piano or..something... that..even when all four layers are turned DOWN 
all the way..it's still there happily sounding away in the performance 
mode.  THere is no midi out btw.
