You're not wrong about how hot they run. However, my MacBook has been the
picture of reliability, while my wife's PC laptop has been in the shop four
times in two years. And, after having used my Mac for two years, I can
hardly stand to use a PC now, even though I'm running Windows XP. The
keyboard is so nice to use, although the trackpad took some getting used to.
There are still some glitches though, which have mostly to do with hardware,
I think.

Again, you're not wrong. However, it must be said: for all it's problems,
Microsoft Windows XP Professional running Microsoft Office 2003 is the most
reliable and most useful combination of tools for a computer. I hate MS OS
any later than XP, and the new Office, while it has some advantages (like
smaller file size), is something I will avoid as long as possible. If
you're going to update and improve a common software package, you shouldn't
move (hide) and rearrange every common function. I'd hate to think how much
money is lost from the economy every day because busy professionals are
wasting precious time trying to figure out how to use a piece of software
they've already been using for 10 years.

Everyone in my department is switching to Mac, and most of them are running
MacOS with Mac Office, which I loathe. I was the first to switch to Mac
(always the trendsetter), but I prefer to run Windows because I've been
using it for many years, and I find MacOS to be extremely unintuitive. I
especially hate the Safari web browser -- not being able to make the window
fill the screen really sucks. I share the common opinion that Bootcamp and
IntelMacs will ultimately sound the death knell for MacOS.
