[sdiy] small widget - how to package? [maybe OT to some]

I'm really thinking first production here.  Something that I could quickly
ramp volume on if orders justified it.  I've seen the heatshrink wrapped
things, the clear plastic tube with endcap things, but I suspect I need
better than that.  Small aluminum channel filled with epoxy/silicone
perhaps? Epoxy block like thing - perhaps but pretty messy doing a volume of
them.  Anyone paid for short run plastic enclosures keyfob size?  How much?
Something like that is really ideal as if volumes ramped it would be easy
to meet demand and reduce cost.
Another idea would be to have an overmold plastic thing.  Is that cheaper or
more expensive than the keyfob?
