You can wire a stereo jack as a mono by shorting the ring and sleeve together, and use this
as 'ground'
(do what you like with the switches, the switch on the tip would be most useful imho...)

Thought I'd reset this one too...
Assuming the schematic symbols I posted yesterday are a) correct for the parts they represent (a 3.5mm socket) and b) those parts are Stereo

Is there a safe, reliable way to wire them up for mono use with a mono jack.
