~~ I would say that the Student Guide is essentual for using The Art of
~~ Electronics. It fills in a lot of details and has a lot of things that
~~ aren't in the book.
~~
~~ But in general I'm not a big fan of The Art of Electronics either. The
~~ basics haven't changed all that much and it is a decent reference for
~~ that. A number of things are dated now and there has been a lot of
~~ changes and advancements in components which aren't in there. The
~~ computer section is so dated that it should be removed from the book.
~~ Usually I'll go to my ARRL Handbook (Radio Amateurs Handbook)first. To
~~ me that would be the 'Best kept secret of amazing electronics books'.
