Depends on the pdf of the noise, but in most cases you'll end up with a 
geometric sum of amplitudes.  Add enough of those sources and you'll get a 
Gaussian distribution which makes the relation exact.

Most white noise sources can be thought of as a summation of individual 
noise sources, see above.
