Hi,
I think that the situation with service info has always been that it
depends on the manufacturer. when I used to work for one of the music
shops in the early 1980's some of the service info was only available as
the shop was agents for the company concerned.
this certainly applied to Sequential Circuits.
I seem to remember that they got some service info from Ensoniq in the
usa and then when they tried to get some more info for another product
were told that it would not be released, as they had appointed someone
else as uk agents !
presently both Roland and Yamaha may let you have service info if you
are a repair person but not make it generally available.same applies to
Marshall amplification.
I agree that some of the manuals from the late 1980's early 1990's
aren't easy to follow.
regards Peter
P.S pleased that Korg have made the Monotron schematic available.
