Yes, this stuff is very cool (albeit still very expensive -- thinking of the
Lemur here).

Um, because they're fun?

Not everything in this world is about infinite capability.  Sometimes it's
fun to bask in the glory of the severely limited.  Those of us who were out
of short pants before the advent of the personal computer realize this. ;^)
