Oh I actually had those YEARS ago and used them regularly.  I did REAL BREADBOARD stuff, on actual
scrap wood.  My dad explained that "breadboard" was actually a real breadboard that was "out of
service" from the kitchen and pressed into use for a receiver or transmitter or amplifier etc. 
This was what DIY electronics was like during the Great Depression (which my father lived through).

Well, the students are not finished yet, so we might see some stuff "written down in writin'" from
these folks.
