[sdiy] Obvious choice for precise 1.00V reference?

Dear Lazyweb,

There was a discussion recently about calibrating VCOs in which a clever
trick involving a flip-flop, a DPDT switch, and a 1.00V reference was
described. Does anyone have a handy part number for a voltage reference that
would be well-suited to the needs of us SDIYers for VCO calibration? Yes,
there are plenty of adjustable voltage refs to choose from; I was just
wondering whether anyone here has any recommendations along the lines of "I
used a ... and it works great for me!" before I spend a bunch of time
perusing data sheets and so forth.

Many thanks in advance.
