[sdiy] uWave xfer question

i have here a rev A Waldorf Microwave 1 with what i think is a busted 
xfer. apparently while with its previous owner a supply cap shorted, 
and after the caps were replaced the xfer ran very hot and 
unreliably. given that, and the fact that i'm in the USA and it's an 
Australian (230v) model, i'm thinking i will replace the xfer anyway 
and then go looking for other things that might be up.

so far i've not been able to talk anyone into giving me the actual 
specs for the stock xfer, which is a bit odd given that this has 
happened to others.

i see regs for +/-12, +8 (?), and +5 for the digital side. could i 
run the whole thing off a sufficiently beefy +/-15 supply?
