It really depends on your requirements for serviceability. Mixer
faders are different from synth faders in that they get a LOT more use
in a studio. The reason that the screws show on many high-quality
mixers is that this way it's easy to hinge the front plate and unscrew
the fader to clean it out or replace without mucking around too much.
