Plus that, the notation is nonsensical.  The definition of C_1 is clear 
enough, but what on earth is C_{1,x}.  You certainly can't figure it out 
knowing C_1. This character is blowing smoke.

And I assure you, if it does actually mean something sensible, it certainly 
doesn't take ten paragraphs to explain.
