The trick here may be getting all the paper off without damaging the toner.
I have found that Plain Paper almost works, it cleans off very easily but
the toner doesn't transfer as well.
Overhead projection transparencies are rumored to work for toner transfer
and there is no paper to clean off.

Yeah, probably.  That would be cool!  Ooo, I'm getting that feeling...

Don't know.  It might not make that much difference.  I don't do anything
special with the dry transfer decals I'm using now, and they stick well to
virgin Al plate, with the protection sticker freshly peeled off.

I think it's worth a test!
