IIRC right after you power up, while it's booting but before it gets to the Loading Engine message, hit the EXIT button and you'll get to some low-level utilities.

Nope. Calvin and Janus engines stayed separate throughout the entire run of the K2000 series, so those Calvin chips won't work in the Janus engine (or vice-versa).
