Actually, I've been working with Olivier on some possible mechanical
stuff (housing design) and on a new replacement for the CEM based
VCF/VCA. He is fully aware of the problems with using the 3379 in a
product, but it started out as just something he wanted to build for
himself so he was originally planning on making only a few. There has
been so much interest that he's making a larger run and has found a
source for a bunch of 3379s (as CEM chips go, they're actually not too
hard to find). Still, the analog portion will soon be replaced in a
"mark II" product with some easier to find stuff. Also, as someone
else said, everything in the project is open source, so you could hack
your own VCF/VCA in with a little effort.
And yes, the sound samples Olivier has made sound great!
