Doesn't the Doepfer A-107 already do exactly that?  Morphing seems cool,
but since many of the filter types depend on cancellation, the 
intermediate territory may consist of a bunch of stuff that isn't really
related to either the source or destination filter types.  The stopband
may cease to be the stopband...

I'm not saying it's not still a good idea, of course.
