Whatever Anadigm had going, they let it rot on the vine.  The FPGA thread currently running on SDIY is good evidence that Anadigm's days have come and gone.  I've also dabbled in synth design usign FPGAs (bench testing an 8 voice synth using Altium and Nanoboard) and I found the FPGA route to be much more versatile and way less resource bound.
