I just read -- well, mostly read -- MAM, and it has extensive information on
ADCs, DACs -- all the TLAs! I'm not sure it's the right book for people who
can't even spell DAC, but the discussion is certainly thorough. I've never
seen another source quite like it; it's basically a book written of the
synth geek, by the synth geek, for the synth geek.
Of course, for general electronics know-how, it's hard to beat the Art of
Electronics by Horowitz and Hill. It's got a fair bit of specific
information about digital-analog interfacing as well.
