To use this thing in a synth, all CV signals would have to be lifted into
positive territory and attenuated. The useful range of CV is only about 1V
peak-to-peak, centred on +0.9V.
(Am I understanding your concern?)
Also, this chip is designed as a DC volume control, so there is no mention
of anything like a slew rate. It might not respond terribly well to audio
range modulation (?).
