I'd be interested to see how it behaves, but it seems like a lot of
work considering that the LM13700 Dual OTA and 2164 Quad VCA chips are
still in production. The 13700 can be used almost anywhere are 3080
was, and the 2164 is a quad unit with built in expo response and a
dynamic range of almost 120dB. The 2164 is not an OTA (no differential
inputs) but that can be worked around with a few op amps, and it is a
very clean and quiet device. Still, kudos to someone for some original
thinking.
