Finally found what was wrong with my Digitech TSR-12 : U14
(KM681000ALP-10) was not fully inserted in its socket.

After reseating it, I had to reset the NVRAM. There is a procedure
for that described in the manual under the heading "Restoring
factory programs". Problem is, when the contents of the NVRAM are
sufficiently messed up, the CPU becomes more interested in dumping
its registers on the LCD than in responding to button presses. To
work around that, mentally replace "From Performance mode, press
<MIDI/UTIL> once" by "Power on while holding <MIDI/UTIL> down".

Ever wondered why the back gets hot ? The voltage regulators have
more than 7 volts to drop !
