[sdiy] small microcontroller chips with D/A converter ?

Hi Harry,

Small (but with many pins), the Atmel AVR XMEGA range have built in DAC's.
If you want something more like an 8 or 16 pin dip package 
microcontroller then as Eric said you'd be best off using an external 
SPI DAC. If you don't require high accuracy Microchip has some single 
and dual 12 bit devices that are cheap.
