SVF design.
The first thing I am doing to my newly acquired JP6, after fixing it and
cleaning it, is to do the thing I was going to do with my last JP6 but
didn't. Rip out all six of those resistor arrays and replace them with a
new array that will re-arrange the filter to a similar one to that
inside the JP8, JP4 et al. That is, make the twin SVF design into the
older cascaded design. I firmly believe it will improve the sound of the
JP6 particularly at high resonant settings. I'll lose the HP mode but it
should still be able to have BP and gain a -12dB setting instead.
Colin Fraser and I looked into this long ago and it should be possible
to do without any track cuts on the voice boards. The only track cuts
you need to make are on the resonance slider so as to turn the wiper
voltage upside down. I'll post my findings when I finally get around to
doing it.
