[sdiy] roland tr606 clock issues

I've got a tr 606 that has some weird issues.  First the bank select
switch doesn't seem to work, any way to test where the problem might
be?

The main problem is with the start stop and the clock.  the thing will
run on its own as soon as it is powered on. The start stop button only
turns the led above it on and off.  this is a problem with din sync
too, since i can't reset the pattern to 1. seems like the switch is
okay because the light works, but something is not actually starting
and stopping the clock. any ideas on where to look?
