[sdiy] Serge synths modules

Colleagues,

I was lucky enough to own a collection of Serge modules, and foolish enough
to sell them. The Serge stuff is great--similar in philosophy to Buchla, but
with a slightly different flavor. The modules are definitely worth checking
out.

The packaging was really interesting, too--you'd start with an aluminum
panel with a pre-cut matrix of holes, then cover it with a laminated sheet
of paper bearing the control names, etc. All of the modules were designed to
fit into the panel (though, admittedly, the control locations were not
always ideal). This was a good design solution in the days before home CNC
machines and Front Panel Designer.

I still think that the Serge Touch-Activated Keyboard Sequencer is one of
the coolest controllers ever. I've been meaning to make a microcontroller
version of it--it'd be fairly easy to do--but haven't gotten around to it.

Thanks,

Ole
