I'd stick to the original values of capacitance. Increased capacitance 
leads to greater peak currents through the rectifier and transformer. 
This increases interference and heat loss through the diodes. It may not 
be enough to do any real harm of course but 10,000uF does seem a little 
excessive for a little power supply.
