Hi Geoff,

No this Isn't a problem as long as the voltage rating is not less than  
the original. Obviously as the V or C value increases so does the  
physical
size so that is a consideration. The good news is that electrolytic  
capacitors have moved on considerably since the 70's. The electrolyte  
is better,
modern caps have a longer life and tend to be less leaky. The other  
thing is that for a given value they have tended to become smaller  
having
the advantage that we can use higher C values when repairing old  
equipment.
