[sdiy] CV inputs with bipolar "amount" knobs

Mouser shows a number of them in their catalog, most are PCB mount. Some are non-stock...
I know that Alpha will make them for some minimum order. I'm not sure but probably
500pcs. I went in on a batch some years ago...

I think I probably agree with you as to the superiority of the centre-tapped pot, but they're hard to find. Do you know a good supplier?
