You know, on the topic of audiophilia/necrophilia, it's funny how
things that sounded fairly stupid just a few years ago are getting
real theoretical and experimental explanations. For example the
memristance effect in capacitors explains in full why they need to be
'pre-conditioned' and why other things need to be burned in.
Looking at the link, 13 quid for a set of three, fairly big, worked
wood blocks, with a replaced core (to break up the resonance)...
really isn't that much nowadays. Especially in the UK which does not
produce any serious quantities of their own wood.
