There are some audio examples of a 3-pole filter on my website:

I confess, not the greatest audio quality as they've been through two
compression schemes (ATRAC and MP3), so not ideal for detailed
comparison with other filter designs, but they give some idea.

Better yet, if you have the chips why not build a filter and give it a
listen yourself?  Everyone has their own opinion on how a filter
should sound like.  Tom's "fruity" is nice :)  I certainly agree about
the low noise.  In my case if I was overly concerned on noise I'd
probably swap the TL072 with OP275 or similar.

There are several real examples of SSM2164-based filters online, such
as the Mankato and my 3-pole.
