I've read that the screw is attached to an extra heat sink, and that both
models (old and new filter) can have the screw.  The daughterboard is the
sure-fire way to tell (although there is probably a way to tell from the
sound when the filter knobs are cranked a certain way).

Speaking of Korg, I bought my very first synth tonight (which I didn't build
myself, that is), a Korg MS2000B (with the built-in vocoder).  It's a beaut!
I think it's going to take me a month to figure out how to use it.
