the H-100 series is inherently flawed, and extremely difficult to
keep working. mainly because it was rushed into production without
being prototyped (!!) according to Chicago dealer Harvey Olsen, or at
least i think it was Harvey who said that.

the inside of the chassis are an hilarious mix of tubes and
transistors ... _very_ transitional electronics.

one H-100 i picked up had keys from the brittle key period, and i
glissed my hand down one of the manuals and all the black keys came off!

i would strongly recommend parting it out, selling the parts on ebay,
and buying a more robust and still affordable Hammond like a CV or a
C-2. they're older, but so much more reliable, built better, and
easier to work on and mod. you can even get smooth drawbar retrofit
kits for them. they also weigh less.

sorry, that's probably not what you wanted to hear ... i finally get
to post to SDIY about something i actually know about and i'm no help
at all.
