David, the utility LFO that I was most impressed with was Peter Lutz's LFO design that appeared in the Electro Notes Builder's Guide and Preferred Circuit Collection. A similar design also pops up as part of Ken Stone's Utility LFO.

I love the idea of being able to sweep from saw through triangle to inverted saw. Would that shape control and the rate control be enough panel mounted pots? and what should the range of the thing be like? I like the idea of the 0.2 - 2Hz range myself.
