I'm surprised no one has mentioned being able to sync the
oscillator(s) to the keyboard gate. It might be handy with one VCO
(would make the volume at the start of the note more repeatable), and
downright necessary with two or more (would eliminate the possibility
of the oscillators being out of phase and causing a big drop in volume
on some notes). Since the sync pulse would be provided only by the
leading edge of the gate (or a trigger pulse if available), you'll
have both VCOs starting together, and then they can start to drift in
frequency to create some nice beating AFTER the initial attack.
