But you don't feel it immediately. Instead there's the nerve signal delay, 
so as long as the latency between the generated sound and the "impact" 
moment is much less than the nerve signal delay, the latency doesn't 
really matter (as long as it's constant enough). Your brain adapts to it 
and compensates automatically (as it does for the nerve delay).
