I was suggesting that the Prophet T8 is actually *fast* for it's era.  
They imply in the service manual that only reason it scanned as often  
as it did was because it needed 1mS resolution to measure key  
velocity. I don't know how many milliseconds it takes between the two  
sets of contacts (optical vanes actually) on a Prophet T8, but it all  
sounds remarkably slow to me.
